There are 3 different types of users available in your ICPlan account:
- Owner: Universal permissions and can see everything in ICPlan including confidential comms – the owner will be the person who set up the original company account. If you need to change the owner, please contact us.
- Admin: See and update Company Settings and manage users
- User: Read or edit rights to any business area or sub business area.
Locations
What a user sees is based not only on the type of role the user is assigned, but also the locations and business areas you set for that user.
When you set the users locations, you are allowing them to see communications that have been added with those locations. Location is optional when creating a communication, but if, for example you have a communication going out to India, and the user you are setting up does not have that listed on their account, they will not be able to see that communication in the calendar.
If you want all users to see all communications regardless of location, ensure you add all locations to their account.
Business Areas
When adding business areas for the user, you can have either read or edit rights to the business area.
This can apply at the top business area level or at the sub business area level.
For example, you could give the user read access to one sub business area Internal communications > finance and edit access to another business area > Internal communications > HR.
All channel and audience business areas are linked with the business areas so ensure you have the correct permissions set for each one.
Here's a quick walkthrough in understanding permissions.
